I graduated from Western Washington University with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science plus a minor in Sports Psychology.   I also hold certifications in CPR and first aid.  While living in Bellingham I coached Little Tykes soccer which was a great and rewarding experience.   I live and breathe sports, fitness and fun!   I grew up playing competitive soccer, basketball and softball.   I endured some pretty serious injuries and spent ample time in rehabilitation working hard to get back to my athletic potential.   That is when I realized I wanted to be a personal trainer.  I know what it’s like to have a goal.  Sometimes it may seem like hard work but once you reach it, you feel awesome and unstoppable!    I would like to share my knowledge with you to help you reach your goals.   In my spare time, I like to travel, spend time with family and friends and take my dog to the dog park (puppies need exercise too!). I like to say a healthy body is a happy body!  So let’s get those happy bodies!

Growing up I was always involved in sports and athletic activities and as an adult I have realized that exercise, health and nutrition are my passion.  Over the last few years I have found myself helping others with their workouts and nutrition questions which led me to decide to become a personal trainer.  I love to see my clients succeed and share in the joy that comes from reaching their fitness goals. I am certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Personal Trainer and am currently working on a second certification through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) to become a Lifestyle and Weight Management Coach.  I attended Central Washington University and earned a bachelors degree in Social Sciences.  I lead a very healthy active lifestyle, I am an avid runner and participate in numerous local runs like Beat the Bridge and the Warrior Dash.  I also enjoy weight lifting, participating in boot camp style classes, spin classes and hot yoga .  I am married and my husband and I enjoy walking or running with our two dogs, traveling (we got married in Cabo!) and spending time with our families.

I became interested in personal training while working towards passing the Seattle Firefighter’s exam. After passing the physical exam, I decided that firefighting was not the best career for me, but it did spark my interest in the field of fitness and training. I have been involved with the fitness industry ever since, for over 7 years. I became an NCSF certified personal trainer in March of 2009 so that I could share my knowledge of sports and strength training with others and help them achieve their fitness goals. Since my certification, I have worked as a Trainer with the Seattle YMCA and have been able to work with a wide- spectrum of clients. I am also an amateur boxer and Ultimate Frisbee coach for high school and middle school teams. When I am not training or coaching, I can be found road racing with my cycling team, chasing a Frisbee with my Ultimate team, or enjoying the quiet of a long backpack trip.

I have lived in the Seattle area since October 2008.  I relocated here from Minneapolis, Minnesota with a passion for bringing balance to people's lives through reinforcing exercise, clean eating habits, and  lasting positive lifestyle habits.  I have an Associates degree in Arts and Business through the University of Phoenix and have attended The National Personal Training Institute in Seattle where I graduated with a 500 hour nationally recognized lifetime diploma of certification.  While attending The National Personal Training Institute, I received experience and exposure to injuries, corrective exercise, functional movement, sports conditioning, and weight loss/gain programs, just to name a few.  I am currently working towards obtaining my National Certification through the American College of Sports Medicine.  I am extremely passionate about functional exercise and corrective movement and I am working towards becoming certified through Skogg Kettle Bell systems and TRX within the next two years.  I have worked within the gym environment for the last year and I am ready to work in a more intimate setting where people can enjoy the beautiful restorative qualities of exercise within the comfort of their own homes through For U Fitness.  My other passions include photography, traveling, music, holistic health, gardening, cooking, creating beautiful projects and spending time with my family in Northern Montana.

As a mother of three young kids I know how hard it is to find the time and energy for yourself.  I’m living proof that if you set that goal you too can reap the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.  Not only drop weight in general, but ultimately feel better and move better.  I have my certification from National Personal Trainers Institute (NPTI). I focus on functional movement, as well as quick plyometric style workouts.  My passion has always been running. I’ve trained and participated in several half and full marathons. I have also spent the last year training clients of all types at the Y. In doing so, I’ve had the privilege helping families and individuals live a healthy and active lifestyle.  You can often find my children, husband, and I on family bike rides, runs and hikes with our Siberian husky pulling us every mile.  Getting to your goal can be an obstacle at times, I will help get you there and make it fun in the process.

For over a decade now, I have been working out at big chain gyms trying to reach my fitness goals.  It seemed to be working for a while and then I just stopped progressing.  My workouts were just not enough anymore!   I knew there was something I was missing, so I decided to become a Personal Trainer!  What I have learned through my training is not something you learn just walking into the gym.  Since then I have a better understanding of how the body works and the benefits of food balance.   I’m eager to share my knowledge and to help and motivate others no matter what their fitness goals might be.  I received my Personal Trainer certification through NPTI and I also carry certifications for adult and child CPR/AED and First Aid.  I enjoy swimming, biking, photography, crafts and spending time with my family, my boyfriend and our awesome Pomeranian, Disco!

I started in fitness almost 10 years ago.  I started out learning how to teach group exercise.  Since then I have earned certifications and training in Kickboxing, boxing, pilates, yoga, bosu, cycle, and much more.  I decided to become a personal trainer in 2004.  I earned my personal trainer Cert from AFAA. Fitness is my passion, and there is nothing I love more then watching people get better, and stronger, and ultimately grow as a person.

arica

Hello, my name in Arica.  Growing up I was an active child that participated in as many sports as my parents would allow.  After my completion of high school I realized soccer was my true passion.  I started my soccer career at Tacoma Community College where I also received my AA degree.  Continuing my education, I was accepted into the University of Washington but had many troubles on choosing a major.  Still having the desire to play soccer at a competitive level, I transferred to Central Washington University where I completed a Bachelors degree in Recreational Management.  I went onto the next level of soccer when I became a part of the Seattle Women Sounders.  I know what it takes to be at the top level and how to get there starting from the very bottom.  I decided to carry on my education by enrolling in Pierce Community College Personal Training Program to gain more assets in becoming a personal trainer.  Through their program I was able to become an ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) certified personal trainer.
